Newborn baby photography, hampshire photographer

frequently asked questions

  • Newborn photography is best booked after you have past the 20 week stage of your pregnancy. This makes sure that you allow enough time before your baby arrives so that you are more than likely to be able to secure that time around your due date.

  • Let’s face it, babies are very rarely born on their actual due date! But that is ok. I allow time around your due date and only use your due date as a guide. Just get in touch as soo as you can once your baby is here.

  • Yes, of course! Please get in touch as soon as you, and as long as I have availability, I will always try and fit you in.

  • Yes, of course! There have been many times I have photographed ‘older’ newborns and it can certainly still be possible to do a newborn session as well depending on how old your baby is. Or it might just mean that you will get more open eyes and a more relaxed style of posing in your pictures. Please get in touch as soon as you can.

  • In an ideal world, the best way to prepare is to feed your baby just before or while I am setting up your session. However, I know that it is not always possible for that to happen. The timings might not suit, your baby might not want a feed at this time, or your baby wants a feed before this time. And that’s ok. If your baby needs feeding then please don’t wait for nearer the session time. Feed your baby as and when, and I will go with the flow. And I always allow time in my sessions to stop for feeding breaks as many times as we need to.

  • I always recommend that anyone that is going to be photographed it is best to wear something simple, no complex patterns like checked shirts, no big logos, designs or bright colours, and that everyone can coordinate their outfit by choosing similar colours and style. Neutral colours are best, like greys, creams, soft pinks and blues. Jeans, plain trousers, leggings and dresses are all great choices as well as plain T-shirts and shirts. And if the men are feeling brave, a shirtless photo with baby looks amazing.

  • Only after your photography session and after I have shown you the gallery on images that I took from your session do you make a choice on what you wish to purchase (unless you are having a ‘mini session’ then your digital images are included in the price). That way you only choose the pictures that you love!

  • Certainly not! I only want you to purchase what you like. There is no obligation to buy a package, there isn’t either an obligation to purchase anything after the session if you do not wish to.

  • No, there is no minimum spend. I only want you to purchase what you like, and you can make that choice only after you have seen your images after the session.

  • Yes, I do. If you would like to spread the cost then the total amount you wish to purchase can be split into 4 payments over a set time. Please ask for more details.

  • Each voucher is valid for two years.
